Overview
Overall, this was a challenging course to teach since it was done in a hybrid format. this made it hard to get feedback from students to assess their understanding. I still tried to get as much participation from students as possible though by having them answer any questions through the zoom chat.
Course Materials
This was my first semester as the full instructor at Syracuse. As the instructor I was responsible for all materials such as lectures, quizzes, and recitation handouts. My lectures were mainly written by following the textbook closely. I did try to make them in a fillable format to allow students to write down the main points but also fit everything in the time. While I liked the fillable aspect of these notes, I think they would be better if there was less blocks of text to lecture and more examples to motivate the definitions.

I also choose to make handouts for students to work on during the recitation classes. I thought the combination of a recap about important concepts and practice problems was especially helpful for a hybrid class setting.

Overall, I though there were many things I could improve on or would do differently for an in person class.
